A wee bit about...

Me

My name is Bryan Poirier.  I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I have lived in the Traverse City area for more than 20 years now.  Music has been a part of my life since my 4th grade teacher gave me guitar lessons  I have always been a folkie.  Influences would include John Denver, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor, and so many more from that singer/songwriter genre and time.  I enjoy writing and the response it brings from an audience.  If you touch someone with your songs, it is a success.  Being a part of New Third Coast reinforced my love of harmony which I got from my mom.  The sound of 3 blended voices has no equal for me.

I had the worst thing a musician can have - a back-up plan.  In my teens and early 20's, dad said, "You can't make a living doing that!"  So, I got an MBA at Michigan State and spent a career in finance.  But, music was always there.  A serious hobby.  I've played throughout Michigan, Florida, and Bermuda.  Still, I never ventured too far from home for long.  I'm a tenor.  I would be exceptionally wealthy for the number of times I was told, "You have a great voice."  Or, "Boy, did you miss your calling."  I will most likely keep doing this till the wheels come off...I love music.

It was a busy summer solo, as part of New Third Coast, as well as the Jameson Brothers.  I will post any dates and who it is on my calendar.  Things are always coming in.  Fall is a welcome rest.   Feel free to contact me for more information, to check out my music which I will post as completed (getting tracks down in my home studio now), or to sign up to my mailing list.
